The academic year is divided into a winter (fall) and a summer semester:
The winter (fall) semester officially starts in the first week of October and ends at the end of January.
The summer semester officially starts in the first week of March and ends at the end of June.
Please note that there could be exams after the official end of the semester!

Kindly consider that most of the lectures are held in German (depending on the lectures you choose).
The Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt offers several lectures in various study fields in English.

Please note that these courses are NO language courses and you should have a basic knowledge of English (B1/B2) to follow the courses.
A Survey of Austrian Culture (course no. 000.007) and the lecture Identities in motion (course no. 821.011) are offered to foreign students to get to know more abot Austrian Culture, History and dimensions of the intercultural learning.
The Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt offers German Courses that run throughout the semester.

Please note that the courses are not free of charge.
You will get access to your student account as soon as you registered personally in the Admission Office. Please note that you can register for courses online as soon as the payment of the ÖH-Fee (obligatory fee for all students in Austria comissioned by the Austrian National Union of Students, currently € 18,70 - subject to change without notice) has arrived at the bank account of the university.
